CRAWFORD COUNTY, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—The Crawford Park District is hosting two engaging events at Lowe-Volk Park this December, offering opportunities for both nature enthusiasts and homeschoolers to connect with the outdoors.

From Tuesday, December 3, through Sunday, December 29, visitors are invited to participate in the Tree Hike at Lowe-Volk Park, located at 2401 State Route 598. As participants stroll through the park, they will encounter laminated trees, each displaying a line of a poem. Those who complete the hike during office hours can stop by the front desk of the Nature Center to collect a prize. The Nature Center is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. Lowe-Volk Park is situated three miles north of US Route 30.
On Thursday, December 5, the park will also host Homeschool in Nature: Winter Birds. Sessions will be held at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. at Lowe-Volk Park. Homeschoolers will take a walk to observe winter birds and discuss their diets. Participants will also have the opportunity to make a feeder to help support local bird populations. The program is designed for children aged 5 to 12. To register, call the Crawford Park District at 419-683-9000.
