Celebrating Ohio Community Theater Month The Bucyrus Little Theatre will be hosting the Ohio Community Theatre Association (OCTA) Festival Saturday, June 13 and Sunday, June 14.
The event will feature representatives and actors from nearly a dozen community theatres in the region during the Central Ohio Regional OCTAfest. This event showcases local troupes as they present the best of the best from their seasons’ performances.
The Central Ohio Regional OCTAfest kicks off at 5:30 pm with the registration table opening. At 7 pm the Curtain Players Inc. Performing an excerpt from Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. At 8 pm MTV Arts Inc. will be performing a snippet of Death of a Salesman. The first night of OCTAfest will close with the Crawford Theatre Company doing a portion of The Rocky Horror Picture Show.
On Sunday the registration table will open at 8:30 am with the Out of the Box Theatre Company performing a portion of Kitchen Witches taking the stage at 10 am. At 11 am the Licking County Players will perform a piece from the play Assassins. The Roundtown Players will take the stage at 12 pm to perform part of The Seafarer. After a lunch and load out intermission from 1 pm – 2:15 pm the Emerald City Players will take the stage at 2:30 pm to perform an excerpt from Edges. At 3:30 pm The Chilicothe Civic Theatre will put on a portion of Love, Sex and the IRS. At 4:30 pm The Little Theatre Off Broadway will perform excerpts from The Great American Trailer Park Musical. The Bucyrus Little Theatre will close out the performances at 5:30 pm Sunday with parts from Of Mice and Men.
The night will finish with a delegates meeting and load out from 6:30 pm-7:30 pm with awards being presented at 7:30 pm.
The community theatres involved are members of OCTA, the Ohio Community Theatre Association.
