LIBERTY TOWNSHIP (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—A tragic accident on Saturday night claimed the life of a 15-year-old boy following an All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) crash, according to information released by Crawford County Sheriff Scott Kent.
The identity of the young driver has not yet been released.
The accident occurred around 7:12 p.m. at 5550 State Route 96, prompting a response from the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office. According to Sheriff Kent’s press release, the crash involved a side-by-side ATV that rolled over, resulting in two passengers being ejected from the vehicle.
While the two passengers sustained minor injuries, the 15-year-old driver suffered serious injuries. He received immediate medical attention at the scene from the Liberty Township Fire Department, Life First EMS, and Med-Flight medics.
The young driver was subsequently transported to Bucyrus Community Hospital by Life First EMS, where he was pronounced dead.
Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
