Wynford High School concert band alumni are invited to make some music with their friends once again for old times’ sake. A Wynford alumni band concert is set for the evening of May 4 in the high school auditorium.

“I don’t think there has ever been an alumni band concert before (at Wynford),” said Christi Crall who is heading up the effort along with Carl Copeland and Arvine Kindinger. “I think it will be amazing. I know we practically have three generations playing together if they all show up.”

The concert is one of many opportunities going on all year long to celebrate Wynford’s 50th year in existence as a school district. An earlier plan to have the alumni perform together was rained out at a football game this past fall.

The event on May 4 will be one that can be enjoyed all afternoon and evening. Practice is scheduled from 2 to 5 p.m. A supper and fellowship time will follow from 5 to 6:30. Then the concert will take place at 7.

“It’s just a great time to come and reconnect with your old friends and see the school, and really remember where you came from and just have fun,” Crall said.

The cost for the supper will be a donation. During the concert, the alumni will “pass the hat” to raise money for the current Wynford band’s trip to Disney World next December.
