Tiro – Ash Wednesday, Lent and Easter weekend activities have been planned in Tiro. Tiro United Methodist Church (Tiro UMC) and Crouse Memorial Lutheran Church will hold a series of worship services and Bible study sessions throughout the season, and the public is invited and encouraged to participate.
“Our two churches have a strong history of working together throughout the year, especially during Lent,” said Pastor Jay Scott of Tiro UMC. “We worship together, and we are in ministry together through the Tiro Christian Action Council.”
Ash Wednesday worship will be held at Crouse at 7:00 p.m. Pastor Chris Lutz of Crouse will lead the service, and the message will be preached by Pastor Scott. The service will include the traditional “imposition of ashes.”
The following Wednesday will mark the start of a weekly Lenten supper and Bible study series. A light meal will be served at 6:00 p.m. followed by the study program at 6:45 p.m. The location for the worship services and the study series will alternate between the two churches as outlined below:

The Bible study series will include video presentations by Pastor Andy Stanley of Atlanta, and will focus on the difference between being a Christian, and being a disciple of Jesus Christ.
“Stanley’s presentation is not only enlightening, it is done in a humorous and down-to-earth fashion that is easy to understand, “ Pastor Scott said. “I highly encourage folks to attend.”
