BUCYRUS — Emergency crews responded to a crash involving a tractor trailer and cargo van west of Bucyrus late Tuesday morning.

According to a report from the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office, a man driving a Ford Transit cargo van, that was hauling a trailer with a lift on it, exited U.S. 30 westbound onto Lincoln Highway CH 330 westbound and reportedly realized he did not get off on the correct exit.

The man then reportedly attempted to cross CH 330 to enter the westbound U.S. 30 onramp. He maneuvered in front of the Miller Trucking Freightliner semi, which was westbound on Ch 330.

The semi struck the side of the van then traveled into the ditch turning over the cab. The truck’s trailer was empty at the time of the crash.

No injuries were reported as a result of the crash.

Along with the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office, Portsmouth Emergency Ambulance Service, Holmes Township Volunteer Fire Department and Ronk’s Towing responded to the scene. The Bucyrus Fire Department for hazmat assistance.

Charges regarding the incident are pending.
