Leo S. Anatra, 86, of Crestline, died Thursday, November 15, 2018 and Dorothy Jayne (Walker) Anatra, 93, died Saturday, November 17, 2018.  Both were residence of Kingston of Marion, Marion.

Leo was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on August 2, 1932 to the late Matteo Anatra and Florence V. (Fanilli) Anatra. Jayne was born in Shelby on August 14, 1925 to the late David E. Walker and Mildred F. (Kibler) Walker.  Leo and Jayne were married on October 17, 1954.

Leo was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, Crestline and had lived in Crestline most of his life.  Leo retired with 28 ½ years of service in Ohio Air National Guard retiring in 1978.  He also served his country in the U.S. Marine Corp as a Senior Master Sargent during the Korean War.   He was a former member of Arcana Lodge #272 F&AM, Crestline, and a current member of Galion Lodge #414 (F&AM) Galion, Crestline Chapter #88, Royal Arch Masons, Bucyrus Council #23, Royal and Select Masons, Mansfield Commandery #21 Knights Templar, Mansfield, Scottish Valley of Columbus, Aladdin Temple Shrine, Columbus, Baku Grotto, Mansfield and A.A.O.N.M.S.  Leo was a recipient of Grand Chapter of Ohio, Distinguished Service Award, Past Worshipful Master, Arcana Lodge, Past High Priest, Chapter, and the Aladdin Temple Legion of Honor Award.  He was a member of VFW Post 2920, Crestline and served on Crestline City Council and Crestline Park Board.

Jayne was also a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, Crestline where she served on the Church Guild.  Jayne was a member of the Ruth Chapter #43 Order of the Eastern Star.   She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and loving wife to Leo for sixty-four years.

Both are survived by their two sons, Steven and Paula Anatra, Upper Sandusky, Andrew and Cindi Anatra, Marion; their two grandchildren, Ryan and Patty Anatra, Ashley and Justin Guzzo; four great grandchildren, Maddie Anatra, Mason Anatra, Ethan Guzzo and Tessa Guzzo; two step-granddaughters, Tiffani Tobin and Cassi Snyder; two step great-grandchildren, Ava Tobin and C.J. Tobin, Leo’s siblings, Florence Reinhard, Crestline, Samuel and Josephine Anatra, Crestline, Victor and Phyllis Anatra, Ontario, Diane and Lowell Assenheimer, Bucyrus, and Bernadette Wilson, St. John’s, Florida.

Leo was preceded in death by his siblings, an infant brother, Bartolo, Matthew Anatra, Bartolo Anatra, Alex Anatra and Albert Anatra; his sisters Josephine Dunn, Frances Abata, Marianna Neuman and one daughter-in-law, Lynn Anatra.  Jayne was preceded in death by her brothers, David Walker and Dick Walker and a sister, MaryAnn Dick.

Friends may call Tuesday, November 20, 2018 from 3:00 PM to 7:00PM at the Schneider-Gompf Funeral Home, 223 West Main Street, Crestline, where a Masonic Service
will be held for Leo at 7:00 PM.  Funeral services will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, 410 North Thoman St., Crestline at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, November 21, 2018 with Pastor Diana Seaman officiating.  Burial will follow in Crawford County Memory Gardens, Crestline, with full military honors conducted by U.S. Marines and the Galion/Crestline Veteran’s Military Funeral Detail.
