The American Red Cross blood drive hosted today by the Bucyrus High School Science Club at Bucyrus High School will go on as scheduled regardless of whether there are classes at the school. The blood drive is scheduled from 7:45 a.m. to 1:45 p.m.

Red Cross Account Manager Fred Moses says the greatest need at the moment is for O-negative, O-positive, A-negative and B-negative blood.

The severe winter weather has resulted in in a shortfall of 1,100 donations this winter in central Ohio and 25,000 in 26 states due to cancelled blood drives.

Walk-in donors will be accepted.
