BUCYRUS―A Wynford student was injured in a crash that occurred at 3:50 p.m. Friday.

According to the crash report from the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office, Melissa Meyer, 36, Bloomville, was traveling northbound on Sinn Road in her 2002 Buick Century when she failed to stop for a stop sign at the intersection at Nevada-Wynford Road. Her vehicle was struck in the right rear area by a westbound vehicle on Nevada-Wynford Road driven by Scott Wheeler, 40, Bucyrus.

Melissa Meyer’s 15-year-old son, Deven James, was taken by Life Support Team EMS to Bucyrus Community Hospital then taken by medical helicopter to Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus to be treated for serious injuries he sustained in the crash.  Another passenger in Melissa Meyer’s vehicle, James Meyer, 63, Bloomville, and Wheeler were also taken to Bucyrus Community Hospital by ambulance for treatment of injuries. Melissa Meyer was not injured.

Melissa Meyer was issued a citation for failure to yield at a stop sign. The Holmes and Bucyrus Township Volunteer Fire Departments assisted at the scene.
