CRESTLINE — A Mansfield man and woman were arrested after the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office received complaints of thefts from a Crestline truck parts store.
According to a release by the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office, 41-year-old Jesse l. Jose and 43-year-old Jennifer L. Richards were arrested on fifth-degree felony charges of breaking and entering. A warrant for Richards also was sent out from Richland County for a probation violation.
The release says several batteries were stolen from trucks in the yard of Carroll’s Truck Parts in Crestline during the past week. Law enforcement officials conducted surveillance of the area and at approximately 9:15 p.m. on July 30, a male was located leaving the area with two batteries.
Jose resisted arrest but was secured and later identified.
Richards was found near the duo’s vehicle, hiding in a fence row of a bean field.
The two were detained and are in the custody of the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office.
The case still is under investigation and a report has been forwarded to the Crawford County Prosecutor’s Office for review of additional charges.
