The Crawford County OSU Extension office presents Soybeans, MRI Soybeans, Wheat, and Corn Management Practices for Profits. The event will take place at 6:00 p.m. on Jan. 15, 2014 in the Crawford County Court House Lower Level Conference Room. It will be sponsored by the Soybean Board.
We will be looking back at management practices used during 2013 at OSU Extension Unger Farm that increased profitability in our research plots and what new questions were created. We will also be discussing why some of these management practices did not work in our situation and where, if at all, these practices may be profitable. With many of these practices either other management has to be ideal or they are an expensive band aid for a different problem. Our primary focus for the night will be Soybeans and MRI Soybeans with a short update on corn management practices. Many farmers this fall were very satisfied with their corn yields but soybean yields in some areas of the field were less than desirable. We will be discussing factors that may have caused this.
