Betty Stockwell was a strong, outgoing woman who lived her life according to her faith. She went to her rest one day before her 92nd birthday on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at the Galion Hospital.

 

She was born at home on January 28, 1926 in Martel and was the daughter of LeRoy and Edna (Quesenberry) Loyer. On July 22, 1945 she married Arthur P. Stockwell and they enjoyed 56 years of marriage until his passing on October 23, 2001.

 

Betty was a 1943 graduate of Martel High School. She retired from the Galion Public Schools but previously worked at the Galion Hospital and former Tiger Cleaners, Stratbury Manufacturing and North Electric. Betty was a member of the Blooming Grove Seventh Day Adventist Church and the Galion Golden Age Club.

 

She is survived by son Randy (Connie) Stockwell of Columbus; daughter Muriel Stockwell of Florida; three grandchildren Heather Stockwell-Moreno, Trent (Kristine) Pancoast and their children Austin and Kyle, Neil (Miranda) Pancoast and their daughter Eleanor; sister Pearl Graf of Galion and a brother Clark Gale Loyer of Galion.

 

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a daughter Linda Heibertshausen; a sister Kathleen Sharrock and a brother Kinsel Loyer.

 

The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at Richardson Davis Chapel of Snyder Funeral Homes, 218 South Market St., Galion, Ohio 44833 where services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 31 with Pastor Marcellus de Oliverira and Pastor Richard Baldwin officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
