Marvin E. Miley, 73, Galion, died Friday, December 15, 2017 at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus, after a short illness.
Marvin was born in Mt. Gilead, on December 3, 1944 to the late Earl “Red” and Gladys (McPeek) Miley. He married Janet Sue (Draper) Miley on November 30, 1973 and she survives him.
Marvin was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church, Galion. He retired from North Electric after 20 years of service and then he also retired from Eagle Crusher after 18 years. Marvin enjoyed farming and his John Deer tractors. He loved riding his horses, Cinder and Mindy and spending time with his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughters, Tammie and Jeff Bohach, Galion, Teresa Kent, Galion, Tara and Bob Boehm, Delaware, and Angela and Jeffery “Josh” McKee, Galion, nine grandchildren, Jacob Bohach, Lucas Bohach, Marcus Sterner, Eric Sterner, Hunter Boehm, Lance Boehm, Kylie McKee, Kaitlyn McKee, and Gavin McKee; four great-grandchildren, his brother, Gerald Miley, Galion, and his mother-in-law, Mildred “Honey” Draper, Galion.
He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Krystal Moody, brothers, Wilton Miley and Charles Miley, sister, Jane Burson. father-in-law, E. G. “Stub” Draper, and sister-in-law, Barbara Miley,
Friends may call Tuesday, December 19, 2017 from 10:00 AM-2:00 PM at the Schneider-Gompf Funeral Home, 303 Portland Way North, Galion. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at Schneider-Gompf Funeral Home, Galion, with Larry Cawley officiating. Burial will follow in Blooming Grove Cemetery, Blooming Grove, Ohio.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriner’s Hospital or Nationwide Children’s Hospital in care of the funeral home.
