NEWS RELEASE:
The Bucyrus City School District will launch a new outreach initiative to engage parents, families, alumni, Bucyrus community members and local media at 2:30 p.m. on the Superintendent’s Facebook page Monday, Dec. 18.
The new initiative, “Facebook Live Q & A with Superintendent Kimmel”, will feature a ten-minute update from Mr. Kimmel followed by a question and answer period. The total time of the monthly live event will be approximately twenty minutes.
“We have worked diligently over the past ten years to engage stakeholders to help build a better understanding of the events, activities, programs and initiatives taking place in the district,” said Kimmel. “We’ve conducted several surveys and found that Facebook is the avenue where most people get their information about the district, so we’re going to focus this campaign to reach as many people as possible on the Facebook platform.”
The live events will take place monthly, and the recorded live sessions will be available for on-demand viewing shortly after the event ends. Parents, families, Bucyrus community members and local media are encouraged to submit their questions prior to, or during, the live event.
“This is a chance to ask me what’s on your mind related to our school district,” said Kimmel. “The list of topics I’m going to discuss is large, and I hope our community will engage with me through this new initiative.”
The Superintendent’s Facebook page can be accessed by visiting facebook.com/bucyrussuperintendent. Questions can be submitted via private message, or through the event page on the site. We encourage all families, alumni, Bucyrus community members and local media to join us each month.
