It’s the time of giving during this holiday season and that is exactly what the Bucyrus Fire Department is gearing up to do on Saturday.
The firefighter’s union, Bucyrus Fire Local No. 1120, will be hosting their annual toy drive from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at the fire station, located at 223 E Mansfield St.
The public is invited to drop off toys to be distributed to area children at Christmas through Crawford County Job and Family Services. Food items can also be dropped off and will be given to local food pantries to be distributed to local families in need and monetary donations are accepted to purchase jackets, gloves and hats for those who need them throughout Crawford County.
Firefighters will move the ladder truck out of the station to allow people to drive through from the rear to drop off their toys.
Items can also be dropped off before Saturday at the fire station and collection boxes are available at local banks and Kroger.
