Two horses were surrendered to the Humane Society Serving Crawford County after agents and sheriff’s deputies searched a residence in southern Crawford County.
The Humane Society requested and obtained a search warrant Tuesday morning to investigate alleged animal neglect and abuse at a farm in the southern part of the county. The Crawford County Sheriff’s Department assisted humane agents as they searched the residence and outbuildings on the property.
Victoria Carmean, Director of the Humane Society Serving Crawford County, reported that several equines, sheep, goats, rabbits, poultry, dogs and small pocket pets were evaluated for the best possible outcome of the animals involved. Two horses were surrendered at the time.
The case is still pending and the investigation and disposition of the animals is ongoing.
