Crestline Chief of Police Joe Butler released the following statement:
On Oct. 25, 2017, at approximately 9:51 a.m., The Crestline Police Department received a 911-transfer call from the Richland County Sheriff’s Office from a male advising of bombs placed around the village of Crestline administration building.
The police Department took immediate response and evacuated the employees from the building, the surrounding businesses, and closed all streets around the building.
The village of Crestline administration building and the surrounding areas were checked and no threats were found.
The Crestline Police Department received assistance from the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office, Bucyrus Police Department, Galion Police Department and the Ashland County bomb squad.
At this time, the matter is under investigation.
