1. Wynford (7-2): The Royals clinched a home playoff game in Week 11 with their 34-0 shutout of Upper Sandusky. Wynford can run the table to another outright Northern 10 Conference championship with a win at Buckeye Central on Friday. At present, the Royals would host Ada, but the bottom five teams in Division VI, Region 22 are still subject to rearrangement.
2. Galion (5-4): The Tigers assured themselves of no less than a .500 season with their 35-20 victory over Ontario. Galion sits 17th in Division IV, Region 14 and amazingly is not mathematically eliminated from playoff contention. Admittedly, it would take a Tigers’ win over 6-3, Division III Buckeye Valley and losses by virtually all of the 10 teams ahead of them in their division, but it is possible.
3. Colonel Crawford (4-5): The Eagles showed their potential last week with a 61-0 rout of N10 rival Buckeye Central in the Battle of 602. Colonel Crawford could salvage break even for the year if they can beat Upper Sandusky on the road on Friday.
4. Crestline (5-4): The Bulldogs thrashed Ridgedale, 64-27, to guarantee at least a .500 season. Crestline will host the Bucyrus Redmen — with whom they are jockeying for position in the CCN Power Rankings — on Friday. A win would give the Bulldogs their first winning season since 2005.
5. Bucyrus (1-8): The Redmen are coming off a tough 46-7 loss to playoff-bound Seneca East last week. Bucyrus will travel to Crestline Friday, playing for pride and hoping to send the seniors out with a win. The Bulldogs have plenty of incentive, since they will be trying to secure their first winning season in 12 years.
6. Buckeye Central (0-9): The Bucks lost big at Colonel Crawford last week. The good news is they have one last chance to avoid an 0-fer season and it’s at home. The bad news is that Buckeye Central will host N10 powerhouse Wynford. If the Bucks could pull it off, it would be an upset they would never forget.
