1. Wynford (2-1): The Royals held on to the top spot in the CCN poll with a convincing 33-0 win at Allen East. Wynford edged Galion by one vote. A showdown with county rival Colonel Crawford is the acid test the Royals need to pass to maintain their death grip on the Northern 10 Conference.
2. Galion (3-0): The Tigers jumped from third to second on the strength of their impressive 23-0 whitewash of Portsmouth. The surprise of the early season, Galion has a chance to prove it is not a fluke when they take on Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference power Pleasant on Friday.
3. Colonel Crawford (1-2): The Eagles are not off to the start they had anticipated, but they have a chance o right the ship when they travel to Wynford this week. A win keeps league and playoff hopes alive. There will be more on the line than bragging rights.
4. Crestline (1-2): Despite getting roughed up by South Central, 44-9, last week, the Bulldogs jump a spot from fifth to fourth. Crestline will get a shot at the team they jumped, Buckeye Central. A win would go a long way toward a successful season for the Bulldogs.
5. Buckeye Central (0-3): The Bucks will try to shore up the defense against Crestline after going down, 63-0, last week to a prolific Seneca East offense. A victory over the Bulldogs could jump-start the Bucks’ season.
6. Bucyrus (0-3): The Redmen are not only still looking for their first win, they are trying to score their first points. There is some consolation in the fact that the three teams that have beaten them have a combined record of 8-1. If healthy, Bucyrus has shown they can move the ball. But state-ranked Carey will be another stiff test.
