The Bucyrus City School District is taking the necessary precautions to ensure all students and staff members have access to safe drinking water for the next 36 hours. These measures come as a result of the City of Bucyrus issuing a precautionary boil advisory at approximately 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 5.
“We are working with the local grocery stores and other retail outlets to secure at least one bottle of water per student and staff member,” said Bucyrus Superintendent Kevin Kimmel. “We are committed to doing everything in our power to ensure we keep our students and staff during the precautionary boil advisory period.”
The Bucyrus City School District Food Services department will be able to prepare food in a safe manner during the boil advisory.
All buildings and classes will operate on the normal bell schedule Wednesday, Sept. 6. Parents and families are encouraged to send a bottle of water to school with their student.
Those families with additional questions about the citywide boil advisory should contact the City of Bucyrus Mayor’s Office at 419-562-6767.
