Galion’s Third Friday events have become a hit with the locals. More and more people attend each month as the word spreads and more entertainment, food, and booths are added.
“We learned that you have to get kids here first and adjust events and live entertainment so that we have good ‘traffic flow’ the whole time,” said Member Engagement Director Miranda Jones of the Galion-Crestline Area Chamber of Commerce.
This month’s theme was baseball, which was shown by the coming of the Galion Graders, who held a meet and greet and ticket giveaway. Peanuts and Cracker Jack were also provided to add to the baseball game ambiance.
Following the Graders were performances by the Galion Area Band and the jazz duo Damian and Dane. New features of the event were hot dog and Italian ice stands. Also included were the typical specials that the uptown businesses have had in the past.
Next month will be the last Third Friday event, and excitement is already buzzing as Matty Monk is slated to perform.
