The cause of a fire at a vacant home at 317 E. Warren St. that burned for several hours on Saturday remains under investigation.

Bucyrus Fire Department was dispatched to the blaze shortly after 5 a.m. on July 1, and firefighters discovered flames coming out of the windows on the first and second floors. It took approximately three hours to extinguish the fire.

No injuries were reported and five people in a house next door to the fire were evacuated safely.

The BFD says the house is expected to be a total loss. Other homes near the blaze also suffered heat damage.

The Galion Fire Department (GFD) was called in to assist.
