The Crawford Park District plans on getting a little muddy this weekend.

With International Mud Day scheduled for June 29, the Park District is getting ahead of the game with a Mud Day celebration program from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on June 24 at Lowe-Volk Park. The event is open to all ages and visitors will have plenty of opportunities to get as muddy as desired.

With this event, the Park District wants to show the community the benefits that current science has found to playing in the dirt. Before dirt-players leave, they can get rinsed off by Jefferson Township Volunteer Fire Department, who will be present at the event.
