The Galion-Crestline Area Chamber of Commerce celebrated the people and businesses that helped make 2016 great during its annual meeting on May 9.
The following businesses and individuals were selected as honorees:
- 2016 Retail Business of the Year: H&K Watkins
- 2016 Industry of the Year: Brothers Body and Equipment
- 2016 Service Business of the Year: Avita Health System
- 2016 Professional of the Year: Jim Grubbs, Galion City Schools Superintendent
- 2016 Chamber President’s Award: Mayor Tom O’Leary
“It’s certainly a privilege to recognized people that are so supportive of the chamber and community,” said Joe Kleinknecht, president of the Galion-Crestline Area Chamber of Commerce.

The Galion Area Betterment Commission also recently handed out its annual awards. Danita Holbrook with Galion Golden Age Center was named Citizen of the Year; the Galion Kiwanis Club was awarded Organization of the Year; Gina Powell was named Humanitarian of the Year; and the Sara Beegle Child Day Care Center received the Lifetime Achievement Award.
