The Galion Tigers baseball team is on a roll and picked up a big road win Wednesday of the come-from-behind variety over Marion Harding. After spotting their hosts a three-run lead, the Tigers came roaring back for an 11-3 win in the MOAC.

Galion is now 5-3 in the league and 8-5 overall. Wednesday’s victory was the fifth straight for the Tigers.

Spears went the distance for Galion in picking up the win. He struck out six and walked three while giving up eight hits.
Dyer and Spears each had two hits for the Tigers. Kuns, Donahue and Utz each doubled.

A rough week for the Wynford Royals got a little rougher on Wednesday as the Royals dropped their third straight in league play, a 2-0, six-inning pitchers’ duel with Mohawk.

The Royals are now in fourth place in the N10 with a 5-3 record and 5-7 overall. Mohawk is in second place with an 8-1 league mark and 12-1 overall.

Jalon Brown and Caleb Stone accounted for Wynford’s only two hits with Stone’s being a double. Smith was charged with the loss. He gave up just three hits, struck out four and walked six.

Elsewhere in high school baseball action the game between Colonel Crawford and Bucyrus was suspended with one out in the top of the fourth inning and Colonel Crawford leading 3-0. Games between Ridgedale and Buckeye Central and Upper Sandusky and Seneca East were also postponed.

In softball, Colonel Crawford defeated Bucyrus 10-0. Games between Ridgedale and Buckeye Central, Upper Sandusky and Seneca East and Wynford and Mohawk were all postponed.
