The Wynford FFA Chapter held their annual FFA banquet on Thursday April 6, 2017.
The banquet started with a potluck meal in the high school gymnasium. Students handed out door prizes to guests given by our local businesses. The banquet hall was called to order by President Luke Scott. There were around 450 members and guests present. The FFA creed was given by freshman Jodie Jennings. The community pie buyers helped raise $4,407 for our pie auction ran by auctioneer Chad Gebhardt and Levi Hartschuh. The money for the pie auction will be put into a scholarship fund that will be offered to seniors in FFA. 32 freshmen received their greenhand degrees and 28 sophomores were awarded with their chapter degrees. Kim Tuck was the freshman G.P.A winner. Rylee Alspach had the best notebook of the freshman class. Connor Miller was awarded with best G.P.A, best notebook, and best record book of the sophomore class. Bailey Alspach was awarded best G.P.A of the Junior class. Shannon Crabtree was awarded best record book, and Hannah White with best notebook. Senior Annika Gerlach had the highest G.P.A. of the seniors.

Star awards are given to students that go above and beyond to better themselves and our chapter. The top fruit salesman was Dalton Schafer selling $3,089 followed by Paige Rex, Jack Reed, Gunner Christman, and Ethan Hall who all sold around $1000.00. The top strawberry salesman was Dalton Schafer selling $480 worth of strawberries followed by Paige Rex, Mary Myers, Luke Scott, and Kenny Minnich. Freshman Jodie Jennings received the greenhand award. Connor Miller received the Star Chapter award. Luke Scott was awarded with the Agri-farmer award, Ethan Stuckey received the Agri-business plaque, and Aaron Hand was the star agri-placement winner. Lynae Rausch and Annika Gerlach both received the 110% award given by Crawford County Ag. Credit. The honorary degree recipients were Duane Shawk and Bill and Jennifer Scott.
The banquet concluded with the induction of the new officer team. The 2017- 2018 President is Kelsie Williams. Vice President Caleb Rausch, Secretary Connor Miller, and Treasure Zoltan Feldman, Reporter Emily Rudd, Sentinel Kim Tuck, Parliamentarian Jodie Jennings, Historian Shannon Crabtree, Chaplain Tricia Morr, and Farm Manager Kyle Koons and Patrick Fast.
