Two six-run rallies were just more than the Bucyrus offense could overcome Monday evening as the Lady Redmen fell by the score of 13-3 in five innings to the league-leading Seneca East Lady Tigers.

Bucyrus is now 1-1 in N10 play and 1-5 overall while the Lady Tigers stayed in the ranks of the unbeaten and improved to 4-0 and 5-0.

Up 1-0 heading into the third, Seneca East sent 11 batters to the plate in the Lady Tigers’ first six-run frame. When the Lady Redmen pushed two across in the fourth inning, Seneca East responded with another six-spot in the fifth.

Alexis Wise led the Lady Tigers’ 14-hit parade with three of her own including a two-run double. Brook Enders and Mykayela Osborne each had two hits. Lauren Sauers picked up the pitching decision for Seneca East with five strikeouts while allowing eight hits.

Brooklyn Spears was touched for the loss for Bucyrus. Four of the Lady Tigers’ runs were unearned. Lauren Kohler and Loarel Mollenkopf each had two hits. A solo home run in the fifth capped off Mollenkopf’s excellent evening. The stellar shortstop also played flawlessly in the field with eight assists and three putouts. Isadora Burling and Donna Richardson also had RBI singles for Bucyrus.

In other games played Monday on area softball diamonds Colonel Crawford shut out Wynford 9-0; Carey edged Mohawk 3-2; and Upper Sandusky rolled past Ridgedale 13-2.

In baseball action Jonathan Alder upended Galion 7-6; Crestline battered Buckeye Central 18-7; Wynford skipped past Colonel Crawford 8-6; Upper Sandusky outlasted Ridgedale 14-13; and Seneca East defeated Bucyrus 6-1.
