The Annual Walk for Suicide Prevention, hosted by the Crawford County Suicide Prevention Coalition, will take place on May 13 at Aumiller Park in Bucyrus.

Registration for the event will take place from 10 – 10:30 a.m. at the Aumiller Park Pavilion and the three-mile walk will commence immediately following.

Participants may register prior to the event. Pre-registration fees are $25 with a t-shirt or $15 without a t-shirt. Participants who register on the day of the walk will have to pay a $20, though it will not include a t-shirt. No t-shirt will be ordered for registrations received after April 28 deadline.

Registration fees are collected to cover the expenses of the walk. The Suicide Prevention Coalition encourages walkers to collect pledges to support suicide prevention efforts in the community.

Teams may also be formed for the walk. Each member of a team must register for the event. Any team with five or more registered walkers or teams who raise $200 or more above the registration fee will be eligible for a team picture plaque.

Individuals who turn in $100 over their registration amount will be entered into a drawing for a gift card. All funds from teams and individuals must be turned in the day of the walk.

The Suicide Prevention Coalition will be offering a free lunch after the walk to all who register. For children who were not registered for the walk, those ages 13-17 will have to pay $5 for lunch and ages ages 12 and under can eat free. Participants should indicate on the registration form how many children will be with them for lunch.
