The Colonel Crawford Eagles improved to 8-3 on the season and 6-1 on the season after picking up a 55-44 victory over rival Buckeye Central Saturday night.

The Buckeye Central Bucks jumped out to a 16-12 lead at the end of the first quarter however Crawford brought the game within 2 at the half after outscoring the Bucks 10-8 in the second for a 24-22 halftime score.

The Eagles flew away with the game in the third quarter outscoring the Bucks 18-6 for a 40-28 lead, and didn’t look back.

The Eagles were led by Heath Starkey’s double-double of 13 points and 11 rebounds. Cameron McCreary added 12 points and Harley Shaum contributed another 11 points in the Eagles efforts.

The Eagles are scheduled to play Upper Sandusky in the friendly confines of the Mac Morrison Gymnasium on Saturday, January 14.

The Buckeye Central Bucks were led by Jacob Shade’s 13 point 8 rebound performance. Max Loy added 11 points to the Bucks cause.

With the loss Buckeye Central drops to 4-6 on the season and 3-4 in league play. The Bucks will next host Willard on Thursday.

In other N10 boys basketball action on Saturday Upper Sandusky continued its winning ways defeating Wynford 81-35, Carey defeated Bucyrus 108-69, Mohawk defeated Ridgedale 49-46, and Seneca East defeated Danbury 74-59.

In N10 girls basketball games on Saturday Upper Sandusky defeated Wynford 62-33, Buckeye Central defeated Colonel Crawford 53-32, Carey defeated Bucyrus 41-29, Mohawk defeated Ridgedale 44-35, and New Riegel defeated Seneca East 43-28.
