Crestline Village Council passed legislation Monday night revising its Code of Regulations to reflect the status change of Crestline from a city to a village.

The move sets the structure of the Board of Directors for the village’s Community Improvement Corporation which will now be worded so that the board will be made up of the mayor, chair of the Finance Committee of Village Council, the village fiscal officer, and village administrator. Three at-large positions will then be filled by either members of the community or the owner of a business within the village. One of those three final spots will be a member of the Board of Education of the Crestline Exempted School District.

The police force in Crestline will be gaining two new full-time members, as council approved the appointments of Andrew Royston, and Lana Rowland as full- time probationary police officers. Their probation period will last six months.

More money will be flowing into the Crestline administration from unappropriated reserves. Council approved increasing the appropriation of the General Fund by $110,166.67. The funds will be spread across Village Hall, the Village Administration, Mayor’s Court, as well as the Police and Fire departments.

The General Fund won’t be the only benefactor as the Streets Fund will also receive a gain of $30,000 and go from $256,470 to $286,470. The Water Fund will receive $17,000, which will increase its amount to $690,651, the Sewer Fund will increase $100,000 to $215,777, and the Ambulance Fund will increase $35,500 to $210,385.

Village Council also approved purchase of .232 acre parcel of land from Robert Runyon for the cost of $1,800. The land will first be used as an alleyway during construction on the Patterson Street bridge.

The next Crestline Village Council meeting will be at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 28.
