Crestline Mayor Gloria McDonald apparently felt pressured in making a quick decision to fill the fire chief vacancy, which is why she pulled the appointment at Monday’s Village Council meeting.

According to the Crestline Advocate, McDonald said she changed her mind over the appointment of Jeffrey Dawson as the village fire chief. The resolution for the new chief failed as a result of McDonald withdrawing the appointment.

Two council members denied pressuring McDonald into making a decision. McDonald argued that the council cannot force her to make an appointment and said she would take as long as she needs.
