A routine traffic stop netted the Bucyrus Police Department over 100 balloons of suspected heroin. Officers conducted a traffic stop in the 700 block of North Sandusky Avenue Sunday afternoon. During that time the passenger in the vehicle, twenty-six-year-old Ronald Tyson of Galion, was arrested on an active Crawford County warrant and the officers seized the balloons of heroin. Tyson is being held at the Crawford County Justice Center.

The traffic citations continued to roll in along with charges. A warning citation was issued for a stop sign violation Saturday night while the occupants of the vehicle, Mason J. Olmstead and Andrew M. Godby, were issued summons charging them with drug paraphernalia. Both men were released with court dates.

Instead of responding to an accident, a Bucyrus police officer was a part of one Saturday morning. Jessica L. Tomlin of Bucyrus struck the rear of the Bucyrus K9 unit near the Sandusky and Southern Avenue intersection. There was functional damage to the police vehicle but no injuries were sustained. Tomlin was cited for assured clear distance ahead. A Crawford County Sheriff’s deputy assisted in investigating the crash.

Bucyrus police arrested thirty-three-year-old Rodney Allen, of Columbus, for domestic violence Saturday morning. Jessica L. Hatcher was arrested for shoplifting at the Bucyrus Walmart Sunday night.

Galion police officers arrested ten people on various charges over the weekend. Those arrested included forty-four-year-old Susan M. McNeal; thirty-one-year-old Robert Wayne Hall; thirty-two-year-old Manuel M. Quezada (contempt of court); thirty-eight-year-old Gregory K. Dauchenbaugh (disorderly conduct); twenty-eight-year-old Megan N. Edwards; twenty-nine-year-old Stephanie K. Taylor (OVI); twenty-six-year-old Zachary A. Snyder (theft, drug paraphernalia, operating under FRA suspension); forty-seven-year-old Rondall Preston Spears (disorderly conduct); thirty-six-year-old William Smith; and fifty-two-year-old Scott C. Dixon (OVI).
