A collision between a pick-up truck and a light pole in Bucyrus Thursday morning left both looking the worse for wear, and sent the driver of the truck to the hospital.
Bucyrus police say initial reports indicate 31-year-old Adam Wolfe of Bucyrus fell asleep behind the wheel and ran off the right side of the road heading north on South Sandusky Avenue just south of the Marion Road intersection at about 7:15. Wolfe’s vehicle, a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado, knocked over a street light pole before stopping beside a tree.
Wolfe’s vehicle suffered heavy damage and was towed from the scene. Both lanes of South Sandusky Avenue were closed from Marion Road to Oakwood Street for more than an hour while the accident area was cleaned up.
The Bucyrus Police Department, Fire Department and Life Support Ambulance responded to the accident and Wolfe was transported to the emergency room at Bucyrus Community Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
That accident remains under investigation and no citation had been issued as of late Thursday morning.
