Press release
Are you comfortable using a computer? Have you ever prepared your own tax return? Are you willing to learn new things? Then we need you!
AARP Volunteer Tax Aides need your help. We’re looking for individuals from your area to help establish The Crestline AARP Tax Aide site at Calvary United Church of Christ.
Calvary United Church of Christ of Crestline has seen a need in the community and has decided to open their doors and resources to AARP Tax Aides to establish a tax preparation site in Crestline, Ohio. The AARP Foundation will provide laptops, printers, tax software, and supplies and hopefully volunteers from the Crestline area; the IRS and AARP will provide training.
This will allow anyone with a basic return to have their taxes prepared and e-filed beginning the first week of February on assigned days and dates throughout the filing season. One does not need to be an AARP member or over 60 to have their taxes (Federal, State, School District, etc.) prepared and e-filed for free by trained AARP Tax Aides. All ages are welcome!
The volunteers we need must have basic computer knowledge, basic tax knowledge and a desire to help others in a structured environment. We are ordinary people, no rocket scientists; just caring people assisting others through the AARP Foundation Tax Aide Program. Training is provided in all aspects to carry out the duties of tax preparer. For more information, please call Marilyn at 419- 529-9076, or Linda at 419-468-7196 or go to www.AARP.org/taxvolunteer to sign up to volunteer.
Together, we can help many! Looking forward to working with you!
