Mark your calendars for Fourth of July weekend! Pickle Run 2016 will take over Galion’s Heise Park on July 1, 2 and 3. The full schedule is being finalized, but there are a variety of new and returning events.
Friday evening will feature a Teen Night at the Heise Park pool and a Galion Graders baseball game. On Saturday morning, the Galion YMCA is sponsoring a triathlon, 5K run and kids’ fun run. Later in the day, expect some wacky fun when Anything Goes takes the football field. Sunday events include a pancake breakfast, car show, disc golf tournament and a parade.
Various athletic competitions will be added to the schedule as well. Local organizations will have fund raising booths set up throughout Saturday and Sunday. There will also be a variety of food vendors available.
The weekend would not be complete without the annual fireworks display, set for Sunday evening at dusk. Rain date is Sept. 4 (on Labor Day Weekend).
Event and vendor registration is now open. Forms can be downloaded from our Facebook page, “Baseball, Fireworks and Pickle Run,” or can be picked up at the City Building or the Chamber of Commerce.
