SYCAMORE, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW) — The Mohawk High School football team is advancing to Week 12 of the Division VII playoffs, riding high after securing an undefeated 8-0 Northern 10 Athletic Conference (N10) title and a dominant postseason win.
Speaking on WQEL’s Coach’s Corner Extra with Josh Stallings, head coach Eric Daniel credited his squad’s player-led culture and daily accountability for their deep playoff run.
“We challenged our guys to lean on their habits, lean on what got them here: being good teammates, practicing hard, and holding each other accountable,” Daniel said. “Your wins take care of themselves if you’ve got good captains… Our best players are by far our hardest workers.”
That resilience showed in last week’s victory. Mohawk broke open a tight 14-7 contest by striking downfield for over 200 passing yards on six completions, then shifting to ten consecutive run plays to trigger a running clock once the defense adjusted.
The Warriors now prepare for a Week 12 showdown against 10-1 North Baltimore, a fast-tempo offense averaging roughly 50 points per game featuring a receiver with 27 touchdowns.
“The biggest thing is just slowing them down, preventing those big plays… and being really good in our front fits,” Daniel said. “Offensively, we’ve got to establish the line of scrimmage and take what they give us.”
