BUCYRUS, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—Dinner with Kim Campbell is set to take place on Thursday, September 17th, at 6:00 p.m. at the Venue at Old 30 BBQ.
Campbell is an A-10 Warthog pilot who safely landed an aircraft that was badly damaged in combat over Baghdad in 2003 during Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Campbell, a retired Colonel in the United States Air Force, will speak about her 24-year flying career and Air Force Career at the dinner following the barbecue buffet dinner.
On Friday morning, Campbell will also be speaking to juniors and seniors from the area at Bucyrus High School, and later in the day, she will be holding a leadership training event at Hord Family Farms HQs.
She will also be in attendance at the Pancake fly-in, where she will be signing books.
Fred Fischer, President of the board for the Lauretta Schimmoler Museum, hopes that those who attend the dinner are able to leave with the realization of the sacrifice and commitment that the military makes for the country.
“I think that sometimes we fail to realize the sacrifice that individuals make to support the freedom of our country, and so just to share in her life and her experiences and what she’s done,” says Fischer.
Fischer hopes that Campbell and her experience, as well as the events taking place, can inspire others and make a lasting impression.
