A semi-truck driver was cited by the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office after he left the scene of an accident Wednesday morning.

According to the Sheriff’s Office report, 52-year-old Daniel Schwartzbeck of Crossville, Tenn., was traveling westbound on Ohio 39 at Ohio 598 when he stopped in the middle of the intersection and backed up his 2011 Volvo semi-truck. Schwartzbeck backed into 38-year-old Alan Gray of New Washington, who was stopped in traffic at the time.

According to a witness, Schwartzbeck got out of his vehicle, looked at the damage, and left the scene. Deputies were able to locate Schwartzbeck at U.S. 30 and Ohio 4 with the assistance of the Bucyrus Police Department. After investigating the incident, Schwartzbeck was cited for improper backing and failure to stop after an accident on public roadways.
