Bucyrus City Council heard from a local business owner Tuesday evening who placed the future of his business in their hands. Shawn Ridgeway addressed council members about purchasing a 2:30 a.m. liquor license for Dillinger’s Event Center.

Citing the Bratwurst Festival as well as the car show as two events that would justify selling alcohol an additional 90 minutes, Ridgeway explained that for Dillinger’s to stay open it would be to have the extended liquor license.

Refuting rumors that the place was going to be a return to the days of the when Dillinger’s was the Mad Bull, Ridgeway also explained that the rumor that a bar was going to be set up in the basement of the center was also untrue.

Bucyrus Law Director Robert Ratliff requested a hearing with the state’s Division of Liqour Control on July 8, No date has been set.

Council unanimously approved an amendment to the ordinance regarding contractor registration and requirements.
