Galion Community Theatre, Inc. will present the delightful comedy THE DIXIE SWIM CLUB by Jesse Jones, Nicholas Hope and Jamie Wooten for five performances on February 19-20 and February 26-27 at 8:00 p.m. and February 28, at 2:00 p.m. at The Galion Theatre, 127 Harding Way West in Galion.
Directed by George T. (Tim) Groth and assistant director Sandra Hoffer, the play follows a groups of five women who were members of a successful college swim team. They have maintained their relationships by meeting annual over the years at a charming seaside cottage to catch up on their life experiences, some happy and some sad. Now, as senior citizens, they have much to share about their lives.
Cast members include Mary Faulds, Nancy Green, Kristina Karbula, Patty Schwall and Erin Shawk. Serving as stage manager for the show is Charles Adcock with Rick Walker as sound engineer assisted by Rachel Jarvis, and Eric Palmer as lighting designer. Backstage assistants are Bob Simon and Ryan Karbula. Bill Burkhart will be house manager with John and Arlene Main providing ushers. Cheri and Chris Laughbaum are in charge of concessions.
Corporate sponsors for THE DIXIE SWIM CLUB are A-1 Printing Inc., First Federal Bank of Ohio, and Dr. and Mrs. Tyler Huggins. The play is produced in cooperation with Dramatists Play Services Inc., 440 Park Avenue South, New York, New York 10016. Marcheta Gibson is organizing the art show in cooperation with The Crawford County Art League for the theatre’s display area.
