PLYMOUTH (Crawford County Now) — Bucyrus qualified six wrestlers for next weekend’s districts at the Division III sectional tournament on Saturday.

James Wills (113), Camden Redmon champion (126), Grady Weber (144), Isaac Makeever (175), Hayden Butcher runner-up (215) and Hayden Ginn (285) will take to the mats at Rossford Friday and Saturday.

Butcher picked up career win number 100 with a quarterfinal round pin in 49 seconds.

Wills, Weber, Makeever and Ginn all paced fourth.

Bucyrus took fourth as a team. Milan Edison won the team title with Seneca East second.

Buckeye Central finished 12th and Crestline 14th.

Jackson Gayheart (190) won his weight class for the Tigers, as did Alex Young (215). Cal Geary (150) and Bentley Gayheart (165) placed second.

Braylen Depinet took third at 175 and Austin Lightner (126) secured fourth.

Seven Warriors advance

VAN BUREN — Mohawk took first place in the sectional here, with seven qualifiers, edging Elmwood 166-148.5.

Two champions were Owen Patrizi (144) and Kaden Bish (175).

Other Warriors advancing were Myler Kirian (132) third, Brant Kirian (138) second, Liam Pursell (150) third, Troy Johnson (157) third and Braxton Frisch (165) third.

Tigers get three champions

GALION — The host Tigers took third in a D-III sectional, also sending seven grapplers to the next round.

Carter Trukovich (126), Gradey Harding (132), and Ryder Alberty (138) placed first.

Carsten Branstetter (144) took second, Kane Hay (150) fourth, Brice McDaniel (165) third, Cameron Kuehlman (190) third.
