MARION (Crawford County Now) — Bucyrus freshman standout Camden Redmon took first place in the Sally George Invitational Saturday afternoon.
Redmon (126 pounds) gained a 10-7 overtime decision over Ayden Hudson of Logan Elm.
Redmen teammate Hayden Butcher (215) took third with a pin of Trenton Maglott of Ontario in 3:01.
James Wills (113) also won via pin over Parker Rowe of Pleasant in 3:32 to secure a fifth-place finish. Hayden Ginn (285) got fifth, via forfeit over Conner Green of Logan Elm.
The Redmen placed 10th. Others winning matches were Grady Weber, Isaac Makeever, Wyatt Makeever, Kaden Vaughn and Asher Swerlein.
Liberty Center took team honors ahead of Madison, Northmor and Mechanicsburg.
Marion Harding and the host Spartans were tied for sixth. Twenty teams competed in the prestigious two-day tournament held at Pleasant High School.
Other area placers include:
- Northmor’s Ethan Amens (120) pinned Camden Castricone (Mount Gilead) in :55 for a title.
- Golden Knight teammate Carson Campbell (165) also took top honors with a 17-0 technical fall over Myquan Waugh (Logan Elm).
- Northmor’s Carter Thomas (132) took third via forfeit over Ashton McGlasson of Madison.
- Upper Sandusky’s Braylon Shepard (120) got a 9-1 major decision over Drew Glassner (Central Crossing) to claim a third-place finish.
- Fellow Ram Ethan Lewis (157) did likewise, capturing a 10-1 major decision over Chase Van Oosten (Pleasant).
