MANSFIELD, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—Mid-Ohio Educational Service Center (ESC) has announced it will host its annual College Credit Plus (CCP) and Financial Aid Night on Thursday, Feb. 5, 2026, offering local families a roadmap to earning college credits while still in middle or high school.

The event, held at Mid-Ohio ESC’s Mansfield headquarters at 890 W. 4th Street, will run from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. It is open to all students and families in grades 6 through 11 for the current 2025-2026 school year.

The College Credit Plus program allows Ohio students to enroll in college courses at no cost for tuition, books, or fees. During the session, representatives from regional colleges and universities will be on hand to explain the enrollment process. Families will also receive information regarding the Accuplacer assessment, a key testing requirement for college course placement.

“This evening provides a vital connection between our local districts and higher education opportunities,” said Mid-Ohio ESC officials. “It empowers students to challenge themselves academically while significantly reducing the long-term cost of a college degree.”

A concurrent session will be held specifically for high school seniors and their parents to discuss the financial aid process. This separate meeting will provide a guided environment for families to begin the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

Registration is not required to attend. For additional inquiries, residents can contact Dr. Alyson Baker at abaker@hillsdalelocalschools.org.

Mid-Ohio ESC supports over 20,000 students across 13 school districts in Crawford, Morrow, and Richland counties, providing specialized services ranging from gifted education to speech pathology and psychological support.
