The Wynford Royals traveled to Buckeye Central Friday night in hopes of claiming an N10 victory. However the tandem of Grant Loy and Jacob Shade had other plans as the Bucks won 52-38.
Both Loy and Shade had double-doubles in the game. Loy led all scorers with 31 points and 19 rebounds, while Shade snagged 11 boards to go with his 11 points.
Behind Loy’s 20 point first half output, the Bucks went into the half with a 26-14 lead over the Royals after the senior hit a three-point buzzer beater. Loy took to the air in the third quarter converting a fast break into a slam dunk that drew cheers from the crowd and a “Thank you, Loy” chant from the student section. Loy capped the third quarter with another three-point buzzer beater to give Buckeye Central a 42-25 lead going into the fourth.
Wynford outscored Buckeye Central in the fourth 13-10, but it was too little too late as the Bucks rolled on to the victory.
