In the Hollywood holiday classic White Christmas, New England’s “winter playground” in Vermont was an uncharacteristic green over the holidays – much like we are this year. In the movie of course, the white stuff made a beautiful appearance on Christmas Eve.

However, this is not Vermont, nor is it a movie set and the calendar has rolled over without a significant snowfall in the area yet this winter. Nor is any expected in the near future.

Temperatures will remain just below freezing until Wednesday without any snow in the forecast and then rise again. The first snow that may cover the ground could come Jan. 10 or 11 and a couple of inches might accumulate.
