BUCYRUS, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—In a recent heartwarming incident, Trooper Timothy G. Hayes of the Bucyrus Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, rescued a dog found wandering on state Route 98 in Bucyrus.

The canine, named Rufus, had escaped from his owners and was in danger on the busy roadway.

Using quick thinking and dedication, Trooper Hayes effectively blocked traffic to ensure the safety of both Rufus and passing vehicles.

After successfully corralling the dog, he coordinated with a nearby neighbor who was able to take Rufus home safely.
