A 28-year-old woman was not home for Christmas after Crawford County Sheriff’s deputies arrested her the morning of Christmas Eve.

Samantha J. Dyer was wanted on a warrant issued by Crawford County Municipal Court when she failed to appear for a hearing regarding a theft charge. Deputies located Dyer in the 900 block of South Walnut Street and during the arrest the deputies found in her possession what they believed to be crack cocaine as well as drug paraphernalia.

Dyer was arrested and transported to the Crawford County Justice Center where she is being held pending her appearance in court.

Dyer already has two felony convictions in Crawford County Common Pleas Court. In 2011 she pleaded guilty to fifth-degree drug possession and was ordered into a treatment program and placed on probation for one year. In 2012 she pleaded guilty to a fourth-degree charge of illegal use of food stamps/WIC program benefits and was again placed on probation for one year.

Dyer was found to be in violation of her probation in both cases in June of 2014 and sentenced to prison.
