BUCYRUS, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—An accident occurred early Friday afternoon when a pickup truck crashed into the Trinity Monuments/Trinco Auto building, located at 1650 Marion Road. The repair shop, adjacent to LuLu’s Kutchen was left with significant damage, no injuries were reported.
Authorities reveal that the driver of the pickup, whose identity has yet to be disclosed, fell asleep at the wheel, leading to the collision with the building. Shanna Nash, the owner of Trinco Auto Repair, expressed her immense relief over the incident, attributing the outcome to divine intervention:
“I feel like God definitely had his hand on some people yesterday. It played out so well,” Nash stated in an interview with Crawford County Now. She pointed out the potentially dire consequences if the truck had veered just slightly earlier, as it would have collided with LuLu’s Kitchen, a location with extensive windows that could have resulted in serious injuries or fatalities.
Had the vehicle not struck a utility pole and around 15 grave markers displayed in the front lot, it might have penetrated deeper into the building, posing an even greater threat to the safety of the staff, particularly the receptionist.
“If one monument was one inch thinner, it would have been life-changing,” Nash said.
Despite the damage to the building, Nash hopes to keep the business operational while repairs take place.
The accident remains under investigation by the Bucyrus Police Department.
