To the Residents of Bucyrus and Crawford County:
The Positive Seekers have worked hard over the past year to bring fun new activities to Bucyrus as a part of making Bucyrus smile, our motto. We are pleased that folks thought of us first when monuments at Union Cemetery needed some attention and when Spooktacular needed something else for its first year at Aumiller Park.
The Positive Seekers are happy to do good things in Bucyrus with other organzations, but we want to take a moment to recognize our own people behind the scenes.
In March of 2015, we helped the city administration recognize Bucyrus’ saftey forces. Along with a proclamation from Mayor Jeff Reser, blue bows decorated the light poles downtown, the residents of Heartland sold blue bows to begin a safety forces family support fund, and a special honorary breakfast was held.
Our event, Red, White, and Blues was used to kick off the Union Cemetery Restoration Drive, which has now held its second meeting.
The Positive Seekers second annual Hee Haw Hayride served 389 people in the two hours that we held it at Aumiller Park, in conjunction with Spooktacular. Unfortunately because of the rain, some people went unserved, but we still had 100 more riders than last year, with no injuries. The Positive Seekers look forward to working with Spooktacular in 2016 to serve even more people!
Five dedicated people organized these things. Five dedicated people were at the heart of these efforts. In no way do we wish to diminish the invaluable help we have received from others along the way, but five people. See how small groups can do big things when we put our minds and efforts together? Now imagine what we could do with ten people?
In a city of more than ten thousand people, we think we could find five more? 🙂
A strange thing has happened. Not everyone may have been aware that we did the hayride portion of Spooktacular. Our second annual Chilly Chili Cookoff had less participation. We don’t want people to think we’ve gone away. We haven’t. We’re still here, We’re still doing good things in the community. We still appreciate and need your support!
Again, in a city with more than ten thousand people, there weren’t a hundred hungry people that Saturday? 🙂
The community cries for free, fun things to do in town. We heard you. Where are you? 🙂
Call us. Get involved. It’s fun, it really is! You can have fun, while making fun things happen. Become a Positive Seeker!
