Two men, apparently believing that the spirit of the season meant helping themselves to all the meat they could carry from the Kroger store, have been apprehended thanks to social media.
Arrested in connection with the crime were Marion residents Joshua Meade and Phillip Atressia. The two are being charged with theft. Meade was already being held by authorities in Marion on an unrelated case.
Unable to identify suspects from a video showing them leaving the store with armloads of meat and turkeys, Bucyrus police posted a request for help on the department’s Facebook page.
Working on a tip resulting from that posting, police were able to identify and locate the two suspects and filed charges against them for misdemeanor theft.
